Help a écrit:Hello, I have just found one in my garden in Switzerland. Is it normal to find these so far north?
Thank you
Hello,
I thought you could see the repartition of this beautiful species on the website:
http://www.cscf.ch/Unfortunately, spiders are not in the database.
In which Kanton do you live?
This species is not especially rare, but likes a warm and dry environnment. In France, I also observed high fluctuations in the repartition and abundance of Argiope Bruennichi.
It seems that global warming has a beneficial influence on this species, which is now spreading in Belgien:

PS: I will search for additionnal information, because I have to answer to someone else who observed this spider in Switzerland...
