Carex pendula, histologie, histology, suite

Récemment, une dame m'a posé la question de savoir si j'avais étudié l'anatomie du système racinaire de Carex. Son chien apparemment en raffolait et elle voulait savoir pourquoi.
Je n'avais traité que les parties aériennes de Carex pendula (Cyperaceae), alors pour lui faire plaisir je planche sur les racines.
La racine (Fig. 1, Fig 2) présente une structure très régulière inhabituelle pour moi.
D'après la littérature l'alignement radial des cellules du parenchyme cortical vient du fait qu'elles ont pour origine l'endoderme. Cet endoderme est extrêmement régulier et en dessous on reconnaît un péricycle tout aussi régulier.
Dans le cylindre central (Fig. 2, Fig. 3) on observe un anneau de petits vaisseaux du protoxylème et plus à l'intérieur un anneau de lacunes issues du métaxylème (à vérifier). La moëlle est sclérifiée.
La coupe de la base de la tige (et je suppose que c'est cette partie qu'aime le chien de la dame) montre que le parenchyme cortical est très riche en amidon (coloration par le lugol).
J'ai goûté cette partie, ce n'est pas repoussant. Une autre solution serait celles de propriétés purgatives recherchées par l'animal. Je n'irai pas plus loin dans les suppositions (si vous avez des avis).

Recently a lady asqued me whether I had studied the anatomy of the root system of Carex. His dog was crazy of this part of the Carex and she wanted to know why.
I had treated the aerial parts of Carex pendula (Cyperaceae), then to please the dame, I have cut stem and roots.
The root (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2) as a very regular structure unusual for me. According to the litterature the radial alignment of cortical parenchyma cells comes from the fact that they originate from the endodermis. The endodermis is extremely regular and the pericycle below also.
In the central cylinder (Fig. 2 and Fig. 3) there is a ring of small protoxylem vessels and an inermost ring of metaxylem. The medulla is lignified.
Cutting the base of the stem (the prefered part of the lady's dog) we se that the cortical parenchyma is very rich in starch (demonstrated by Lugol staining). I tested this part, it is not repulsive. Another solution would be that of the purgative properties searched by the animal.
